REPORTS

BURGLARY, 2026-04040140, 1100 block of S. Thomas Street. At approximately 1:30 p.m. on April 4, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was inside her residence when the male suspect, who is known to her, allegedly forced entry into the home and a closed bedroom. The suspect displayed what appeared to be a knife and made threatening statements before subsequently fleeing the scene. A lookout was broadcast, and officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of Columbia Pike and S. Dinwiddie Street and detained him. During a search incident to arrest, suspected narcotics were recovered. Franklin Washington, 47, of No Fixed Address, was arrested, and charged with Burglary, Assault and Battery, Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance and Attempted Unlawful Entry. He was held without bond.

WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2026-04030144, 1200 block of S. Hayes. At approximately 3:47 p.m. on April 3, an officer working a crime prevention detail at the Pentagon City Metro Station stopped a male suspect for fare evasion. The suspect ignored officers’ commands and was detained. During a search of the suspect incident to arrest, a firearm was recovered. Malik Jackson, 22, of Washington, DC, was arrested, and charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Fare Evasion.

ROBBERY, 2026-04030243, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 10:20 p.m. on April 3, police were dispatched to the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined the female suspect entered the business, collected merchandise and attempted to pay for the items with invalid payment. When an employee confronted the suspect, she threw an electronic device at the employee and fled the scene with some of the stolen merchandise. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Black female, approximately 35 years old, approximately 5’7”, with short black hair, wearing a black short-sleeve shirt and black shorts. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2026-04040163, 2100 block of 15th Street N. At approximately 3:20 p.m. on April 4, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, collected merchandise and walked towards the exit of the store without payment. When confronted by an employee, the suspect made threatening statements and implied a weapon before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 25-40 years old, approximately 5’9”-6’0” tall and 200-220 pounds. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2026-04030067, 3400 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 8:50 a.m. on April 3, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business and collected merchandise from behind the counter. When confronted by an employee, the suspect pushed the employee and fled the scene on foot with the stolen merchandise. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 20-30 years old, approximately 5’10”-5’11” tall, wearing a black baseball cap, all black clothing, white sneakers and a face covering. The investigation is ongoing.
