REPORTS
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE (Significant), 2025-09040204, 1400 block of S. Joyce Street. At approximately 8:20 p.m. on September 4, an officer on proactive patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing several moving violations. As a result of the investigation, the driver was suspected of being under the influence and was taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, a loaded firearm was recovered from the vehicle. Keith Hickson, 53, of La Plata, MD was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence and Carrying a Concealed Firearm while Under the Influence of Alcohol.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (Late), 2025-09040174, 2600 block of Shirlington Road. At approximately 3:40 p.m. on September 4, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. It was determined between August 23 and September 4, the suspect(s) forced entry into a secured storage unit, causing property damage, stole household items from the unit and subsequently fled the scene. The investigation into the circumstances of this incident is ongoing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE (Late), 2025-09030169, 3500 block of Wilson Boulevard. On September 3, police received an online report for a late exposure. It was reported that on September 2 at approximately 3:40 p.m., one adult victim and two juvenile victims were in the area when the unknown male suspect approached and exposed himself. The victims left the area and went a nearby business. The suspect followed them, and the three victims left the business to get away from the suspect. The suspect is described as a male in his 60s, approximately 5’5” tall, wearing jeans and a football jersey. The investigation is ongoing.
