REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2025-10250036, 4200 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 6:52 a.m. on October 25, police were dispatched to the report of a disorderly individual throwing items at people in the metro station. A lookout was broadcast, and an officer located the suspect inside the metro station holding a boxcutter and making threatening statements. The officer issued the suspect commands to drop the boxcutter to which he was non-compliant and ignored the commands. The officer deployed their taser and with the assistance of additional arriving officers, the suspect was taken into custody. While in custody, the suspect remained non-compliant and kicked an Arlington County Police officer. The boxcutter was recovered on scene. After being evaluated by medics at the scene, Joseph Powell, 32, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Assault on Police and Obstruction of Justice. Metro Transit Police assumed primary on the investigation of incidents that occurred on the metro rail system.
ROBBERY, 2025-10250034, 3500 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 5:05 a.m. on October 25, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, collected merchandise and allegedly walked towards the exit of the store without payment. The suspect threw hot coffee onto an employee before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect at N. Kirkwood Road and Washington Boulevard and took him into custody. John Olmo, 54, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Robbery. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY, 2025-10260158, 5500 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 7:19 p.m. on October 26, police were dispatched to the report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect allegedly forced entry into the male victim’s apartment, who is known to him. The suspect then assaulted the victim before fleeing the apartment on foot. No injuries were reported. Responding officers located the suspect at the scene and detained him without incident. Kevin Broderick, 29, of Arlington, Va., was arrested, and charged with Burglary and Assault and Battery.
MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED VEHICLE (late), 2025-10260141, 2400 block of Richmond Highway. At approximately 5:31 p.m. on October 26, police were dispatched to the late report of missile into an occupied vehicle. The preliminary investigation indicates the occupants of two vehicles were involved in a dispute over driving during which the suspect vehicle pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle and the driver threw a water bottle at the victim’s vehicle. The investigation into the circumstances of this incident is ongoing.
BURGLARY (Late), 2025-10230111, 2300 block of 11th Street. October 23, police received an online report for a late breaking and entering. It was reported at approximately 9:30 a.m. on October 19, the suspect(s) made entry into the victim’s residence and stole their wallet before subsequently fleeing the scene. There are no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
