REPORTS

NARCOTICS VIOLATION (Significant), 2025-11140154, 900 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 4:25 p.m. on November 14, officers working a retail theft detail in the area were alerted to the report of a shoplifting where the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. A lookout was broadcast and an officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of S. Joyce Street. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the vehicle was displaying an altered license plate and would be impounded. During an inventory search of the vehicle prior to towing, a large quantity of drug paraphernalia, stolen merchandise, handgun ammunition and suspected narcotics were recovered. Three occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged. The driver, Hector Javier Perez Cruz, 54, of Alexandria, VA was charged with Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance (x2), Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Paraphernalia. Bernart Rivas, 26, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine and Petit Larceny. Yonatan Bran Martinez, 20, of Alexandria, VA was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Fentanyl and Petit Larceny. 

WEAPONS VIOLATION (Significant), 2025-11160008, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 12:31 a.m. on November 16, police were dispatched to the report of a trespassing. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect inside a hotel and the property manager asked him to leave which he initially complied with. A short time later, the suspect reentered the property and was taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, suspected narcotics, a firearm and ammunition were recovered. Elquan Deloatch, 35, of Alexandria, VA was arrested and charged with Trespassing, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substance.

RECKLESS HANDLING OF FIREARM (late), 2025-11140127, 1200 block of S. Ross Street. At approximately 1:56 p.m. on November 14, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. It was determined approximately three days prior, the male suspect was allegedly cleaning his firearm inside a residence when the weapon discharged, causing damage to the interior of the home and a neighboring vacant residence. Responding officers located the suspect on scene. No injuries or other property damage were reported and a firearm was recovered. Absalom Cherinet, 27, of Fort Washington, MD was charged with Reckless Handling of a Firearm and was released on a summons.

ASSAULT BY MOB, 2025-11140144, 1300 block of S. Dinwiddie Street. At approximately 3:55 p.m. on November 14, police were dispatched to Wakefield High School for the report of an assault with injury. Upon arrival, it was determined approximately 30 minutes prior, the juvenile female victim and juvenile male victim were outside on school grounds when the two juvenile female suspects, who are known to them, approached them. The suspects made threatening statements towards the victims and when the female victim walked away, one suspect pulled her to the ground while the other suspect struck her. The male victim attempted to intervene during which one suspect pepper sprayed him. The suspects then fled the scene. The victims sustained minor injuries and were treated and released on scene by medics. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY CAUSTIC SUBSTANCE, 2025-11140231, 4900 block of Langston Boulevard. At approximately 10:43 p.m. on November 14, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and female suspect were driving their vehicles in a parking lot when they became involved in a verbal dispute. The female suspect then pepper sprayed the male victim before fleeing the scene in her vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention. The suspect is described as a white female, approximately 50-70 years old with white hair wearing glasses. The investigation is ongoing.
