REPORTS
BRANDISHING, 2025-05040100, 3400 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 11:58 a.m. on May 4, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person with a knife. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was entering a residential building when the male suspect allegedly followed her inside. The victim then alerted an employee who asked the suspect to leave. The suspect then exited the building and brandished a machete before fleeing the scene. Responding officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of Washington Boulevard and N. Kirkwood Road and took him into custody. During the course of the investigation, a machete was recovered. Batbold Saikhanbayar, 33, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Brandishing a Machete and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. He was held without bond.
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING (Late), 2025-05020302, 4200 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 10:46 p.m. on May 2, police were dispatched to the late report of an assault. It was determined at approximately 7:15 p.m., the juvenile male victim and juvenile male suspect, who are known to each other, were on a transit bus when they became involved in a verbal dispute. The victim and suspect then exited the bus and the suspect assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained minor injuries. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and petitions were sought for Attempted Malicious Wounding.
ROBBERY, 2025-05020214, 200 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 5:20 p.m. on May 2, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the three juvenile male suspects entered the business and concealed merchandise. Suspect One then attempted to exit the business without payment during which he was confronted by an employee and a physical altercation ensued. Suspect One struck the employee and Suspect Two joined the altercation while Suspect Three left the store without payment. Suspects One and Two then followed Suspect Three out of the business and all three suspects fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspects yielding negative results. Suspect One is described as a juvenile white male, approximately 14-17 years old, 5’7”, 140 pounds with brown hair wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. Suspect Two is described as a juvenile Hispanic male, approximately 14-17 years old, 5’6”, 140 pounds with black hair wearing all black clothing and a face covering. Suspect Three is described as a juvenile Black male, approximately 14-17 years old, 5’6”, 140 pounds with black hair wearing a white shirt and black shorts. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2025-05040143, 5000 block of Chesterfield Road. At approximately 4:41 p.m. on May 4, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, officers located the injured victim in a parking lot. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. During transport to the hospital, the victim reported someone stole his jewelry. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.
BRANDISHING (Late), 2025-05020124, Arlington Boulevard at S. Carlin Springs Road. At approximately 12:10 p.m. on May 2, police were dispatched to the report of a brandishing. It was determined at approximately 10:15 a.m., the male victim was driving northbound on S. Carlin Springs Road when he became involved in a dispute with the two male suspects who were driving in another vehicle. The vehicles came to a stop at a red light during which Suspect One, who was the driver of the vehicle, brandished what appeared to be a firearm and made threatening statements towards the victim before fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. No injuries were reported. The suspects are described as Hispanic males driving a black sedan. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY (Late), 2025-05030075, 900 block of S. Lincoln Street. At approximately 10:07 a.m. on May 3, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. It was determined between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on May 2, the male and female victims met the male suspect, who was an acquaintance, outside a business for the prearranged sale of a vehicle. During the course of the incident, the suspect demanded cash from the victims before subsequently fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a thin-build Black male, approximately 20-30 years old, 5’6” with a beard. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (Late), 2025-05030071, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 9:41 a.m. on May 3, police were dispatched to the late report of an attempted breaking and entering. It was determined at approximately 9:00 a.m., the male suspect forced entry into the closed business during which security personnel confronted him. The suspect subsequently fled the scene on foot. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 35-40 years old, 5’8”, 150 pounds wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY AUTO (Series)(Late), 2025-05040079, 1200 block of S. Courthouse Road. At approximately 9:48 a.m. on May 4, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted stolen vehicle. It was determined between approximately 8:00 p.m. on May 3 and 9:30 a.m. on May 4, the suspect(s) broke the front passenger windows of three parked, unoccupied vehicles in the area and tampered with the steering columns before fleeing the scene. All victim vehicles are described as Kia models. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
