REPORTS
ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY AUTO (Significant), 2025-05280127, 2600 block of Richmond Highway. At approximately 4:21 p.m. on May 21, police were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the parking lot of the business and engaged an employee in conversation. The suspect then allegedly entered an unoccupied, running vehicle and attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle. Employees confronted the suspect who subsequently exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the 2300 block of S. Eads Street and detained him. During the course of the investigation, the suspect provided false personal identification information to officers. It was also determined the suspect stole vehicles from the same business during two previous incidents on May 23 and May 27. James Manago, 41, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged with Attempted Grand Larceny Auto, Grand Larceny Auto (x2) and Identity Theft. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY (Late) (Series), 2025-05290019/2025-05290021/2025-05290035/2025-05290045, 1900 block of Wilson Boulevard/1500 block of Wilson Boulevard/2200 block of Clarendon Boulevard/1700 block of N. Lynn Street. At approximately 3:18 a.m. on May 29, police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Wilson Boulevard for late report of a burglary just discovered. It was determined at approximately 2:26 a.m., the suspects forced entry into three closed businesses in the area by breaking glass doors, stole cash registers and an undisclosed amount of cash and subsequently fled the scene. Later on May 29, officers were dispatched to investigate three additional late reports of burglaries that occurred during the overnight hours in the 1500 block of Wilson Boulevard (3 businesses), 2200 block of Clarendon Boulevard (1 business) and the 1700 block of N. Lynn Street (1 business) in which the suspects forced entry into five closed businesses by shattering glass doors and stole a safe and cash drawers/boxes containing an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene. The suspects from each of the incidents are described as approximately two to three unknown race males wearing all black and face coverings. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (Late), 2025-05270047, 1900 block of Fort Myer Drive. At approximately 8:47 a.m. police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary just discovered. It was determined between 4:30 p.m. on May 23 and 8:30 a.m. on May 27, the suspect(s) made entry into the closed business, rummaged through the interior offices and subsequently fled the scene. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
