REPORTS
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2025-05200117, 3900 block of 5th Street N. At approximately 1:44 p.m. on May 20, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined an employee of the residential building entered a vacant apartment and observed the male suspect inside. The employee then left the scene and the suspect allegedly took the employee’s keys from the door. Responding officers located the suspect outside the residential building and took him into custody. During the course of the investigation, property damage to the apartment was discovered, the employee’s keys were recovered and the suspect provided false personal identification information to officers. Garland Mines, 39 of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry, Petit Larceny, Destruction of Property and Giving False Identification to Police.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2025-05200215, 2600 block Crystal Drive. At approximately 7:56 p.m. on May 20, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined Victim One was walking in the area when the male suspect allegedly approached him and asked to borrow his phone. When Victim One refused, the suspect attempted to grab his phone, causing it to fall to the ground and a physical altercation ensued. Victim Two, who was driving in the area, witnessed the altercation, exited his vehicle and assisted Victim One in holding the suspect until police arrival. The victims sustained minor injuries. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. Once cleared, Jaylen Williams, 26, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery and Assault and Battery. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY, 2025-05200014, 1000 block of N. Fillmore Street. At approximately 5:20 a.m. on May 20, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary alarm. Upon arrival, it was determined the three male suspects forced entry into the business by breaking a window, rummaged through the interior, stole two cash registers and merchandise and subsequently fled the scene in a silver sedan. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspects yielding negative results. The suspects are all described as average height, thin-build Black males. Suspect One was wearing a black jacket, black face covering, white shirt, dark pants and black shoes. Suspect Two was wearing a white and gray jacket, black pants, black shoes and a white face covering. Suspect Three was wearing a black hoodie, black face covering, black pants and back shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
