REPORTS

ASSAULT ON MEDIC, 2025-05180043, 900 block of N. Stafford Street. At approximately 3:49 a.m. on May 18, police were dispatched to assist fire personnel on a medical call for service. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect allegedly began acting disorderly and struck a medic with a bottle. Responding officers located the suspect on scene and took him into custody. During the course of the investigation, drug paraphernalia was recovered. Kevin Gordon-Cruz, 42, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Assault on Fire/EMT, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Public Intoxication. He was held without bond.

ROBBERY, 2025-05160209, 4200 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 7:31 p.m. on May 16, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect allegedly entered the business and attempted to purchase cigarettes, which an employee refused as they recognized the suspect as having previously stolen from the business. The suspect then jumped over the counter, made threatening statements towards the employee and stole cigarettes before fleeing the store. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast, and an officer subsequently located an individual matching the description of the suspect inside the Ballston Metro and took him into custody. During the course of the investigation, he provided false personal identification information to officers, and it was determined the suspect previously robbed the same business on May 13, 2025 and would be charged for both incidents. Ricky Nolan, 36, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Robbery (x2), Giving False Identification to Police, Destruction of Property and Public Intoxication. He was held without bond.

ROBBERY, 2025-05180025, 200 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 1:48 a.m. on May 18, police were dispatched to the report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, it was determined there was no firearm involved in the incident and the female victim was inside a business when she briefly walked away from her cigarettes and lighter during which the male suspect allegedly stole them. The victim then confronted the suspect who became disorderly, displayed a knife and made threatening statements towards the victim before exiting the business and fleeing the scene on foot. A lookout was broadcast, and officers observed an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of 23rd Street S. and S. Eads Street and detained him. During the course of the investigation, suspected narcotics were recovered and the suspect spat on an officer. Mark Moore, 46, of Midland, Va. was arrested and charged with Robbery, Assault on Police, Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance and Public Intoxication.

BURGLARY, 2025-05180048, 5000 block of 14th Street S. At approximately 4:39 a.m. on May 18, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside his residence when he heard a noise and upon further investigation, observed the male suspect inside his home. The victim confronted the suspect, who allegedly implied a weapon and fled the scene. A lookout was broadcast, and an officer observed an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of King Street and S. Walter Reed Drive and detained him. During the course of the investigation, suspected narcotics were recovered. Steven Anderson, 61, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Burglary, Assault and Battery and Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance.

RECKLESS HANDLING OF A FIREARM, 2025-05160186, 200 block of S. Veitch Street. At approximately 5:12 p.m. on May 16, police were dispatched to the report of shots heard. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect was allegedly handling a firearm inside a residence when the weapon discharged, causing damage to the interior of the home. Responding officers located the suspect on scene. No injuries were reported. Property damage to a neighboring home was located. Mohammad Anwar, 24, of Arlington, Va. was charged with Reckless Handling of a Firearm and released on a summons.

INDECENT EXPOSURE (Late), 2025-05180190, 4900 block of 9th Street S. At approximately 9:24 p.m. on May 18, police were dispatched to the late report of an exposure. It was determined between approximately 4:00 p.m. and 9:24 p.m., the male suspect allegedly threw items at the male victim and female victim while inside a residential building. The suspect also exposed himself to the male victim. Responding officers located the suspect on scene and took him into custody. John Doherty, 65, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure and Assault and Battery (x2). He was held without bond.

CARJACKING, 2025-05170056, 2000 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 3:08 a.m. on May 17, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside his parked vehicle with the windows down outside a business when the female suspect and male suspect approached. The suspects reached into the vehicle, grabbed the victim and demanded cash before they displayed firearms and struck the victim with them. The victim then exited the vehicle before the suspects entered his vehicle and fled the scene. The victim sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The female suspect is described as a heavy-set Black female, approximately 5’6”-5’8”, wearing all black clothing. The male suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’8”-5’9”, wearing all black clothing. Later the same day, the vehicle was recovered in the 1900 block of Key Boulevard. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2025-05180089, 1300 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 11:55 a.m. on May 18, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was entering his vehicle when the female suspect, who is known to the victim, and the male suspect approached the victim and demanded his personal property. The victim refused during which the suspects assaulted him, and the male suspect brandished what appeared to be a firearm. The suspects then stole the victim’s cellphone and wallet containing an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene in a silver SUV. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene by medics. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspects yielding negative results. During the course of the investigation, the female suspect was identified and warrants for Robbery and Assault and Battery were obtained. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2025-05180032, 3200 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 2:15 a.m. on May 18, an officer was flagged down by witnesses for an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the two male victims were outside a business when they became involved in a verbal dispute with approximately four male suspects that escalated to a physical altercation. During the struggle, the suspects stole jewelry from the victims before fleeing the scene in a blue sedan and a silver sedan. The male victims, in addition to a female victim who attempted to intervene, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects are described as Black males, approximately 20-30 years old. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2025-05170036, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 1:39 a.m. on May 17, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect made entry into the closed business and when he was confronted by security personnel, fled the scene on foot. No items were reported stolen. The suspect is described as a thin-build Black male, approximately 30-40 years old, 5’5”-5’8”, 130-160 pounds, with cornrow style hair and facial hair, wearing a white tank top, blue sweatpants and black boots. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY (Late), 2025-05170135, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 2:30 p.m. on May 17, police were dispatched to the late report of a robbery by force. It was determined between approximately 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on May 16, the juvenile male victim was outside a business when the three juvenile male suspects approached him. One suspect demanded his clothing items while another pushed him. The suspects then fled the scene on foot with the victim’s clothing items. No injuries were reported. The suspects are described as juvenile white males with black hair. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (Late), 2025-05180073, 5100 block of N. Carlin Springs Road. At approximately 9:48 a.m. on May 18, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. It was determined between approximately 9:00 a.m. and 9:40 a.m., the suspect(s) made entry into the victim’s unoccupied home, rummaged through the interior, stole jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (Late) (Series), 2025-05160031/2025-05160038/2025-05160058, 2200 block of N. Tuckahoe Street/N. Utah Street at N. Upton Street/2200 block of N. Tuckahoe Street. At approximately 5:03 a.m. on May 16, police were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle. It was determined during the overnight hours of May 15 into May 16, the suspect(s) stole two vehicles from the 2200 block of N. Tuckahoe Street and rummaged through the interiors of eight vehicles in the area of N. Utah Street at N. Upton Street. Personal belongings were reported stolen. All victim vehicles vary in make and model. The two stolen vehicles are described as a 2019 gray Hyundai Santa Fe with Virginia license plate UYT5129 and a 2022 blue Kia Sorento with Virginia license plate TYW1731. The investigation is ongoing.
