REPORTS
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2025-03140102, 1000 block of S. Wayne Street. At approximately 12:47 p.m. on March 14, police were dispatched to the report of a male suspect who had caused property damage to a residential building. Upon arrival, it was determined the suspect entered the building’s lobby and allegedly struck walls and glass doors with a hammer. The suspect, while in possession of the hammer, subsequently made threatening statements towards two victims before exiting the building. No injuries were reported. A responding officer located the suspect as he exited the building and with the assistance of additional officers, he was taken into custody. The suspect suffered a laceration during the incident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Upon his release, Phillip Baroody, 53, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding, Assault and Battery, and Destruction of Property.
ROBBERY, 2025-03150213, Clarendon Boulevard at N. Veitch Street. At approximately 11:09 p.m. on March 15, police were dispatched to the report of trouble unknown. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was riding an electric scooter in the area when he was approached by the male suspect who struck him, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect then stole the victim’s wallet before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was treated by medics on scene before being transported to an area hospital. The suspect is described as an average to heavy-set unknown race male, wearing a dark hoodie and jeans. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2025-03140078, 1600 block of Fort Myer Drive. At approximately 9:47 a.m. on March 14, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. It was determined between approximately 3:00 p.m. on March 13 and 9:47 a.m. on March 14, the male suspect forced entry into a commercial building and a secured office within the building, stole electronics and subsequently fled the scene. The suspect is described as a Black male with facial hair wearing a black head cover, white face covering, black jacket, white hoodie, dark blue jeans and white shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2025-03150040, 3800 block of 9th Street N. At approximately 9:38 a.m. on March 15, officers conducting follow up into an earlier call for service determined at approximately 2:36 a.m. on March 15, two male suspects forced entry into the secured residential building and the package room, stole packages and subsequently fled the scene. Suspect One is described as a Black male, approximately 5’10” with an athletic build, wearing a black hat, a white shirt, black jacket, black jeans and white sneakers. Suspect Two is described as a Black male, approximately 6’ with an athletic build, wearing a black hat, white jacket, black pants and white shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
