REPORTS
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2025-07220241/2025-07230012, 2100 block of 15th Street N. At approximately 11:40 p.m. on July 22, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was standing outside the business when the male suspect approached and allegedly tried to steal his phone from his hands. The victim moved away from the suspect, entered his vehicle and drove away from the scene. A short time later, a second victim exited the business with a bag of purchased merchandise. The suspect approached the victim and engaged him in conversation before he started yelling at the victim, assaulted him, and grabbed the merchandise from his bag. The victim ran away from the suspect into the store and called police. A lookout was broadcast, and when police arrived, they located the suspect at the scene and took him into custody. The victim’s merchandise was recovered at the scene. Willie Jackson Jr., 43, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery (x2). He was held without bond.
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2025-07220213, 200 block of N. Thomas Street. At approximately 9:28 p.m. on July 22, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the juvenile male victim was in the stairwell of a residential building when the adult male suspect approached and began yelling at the victim. The victim attempted to leave the scene when the suspect grabbed his hand, displayed a knife and made jabbing movements. The victim’s family entered the stairwell upon hearing the commotion, confronted the suspect and he fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a medium build, 30-40 year old Black male, approximately 5’8”-5’10” tall, wearing two green or gray hoodies, a yellow jacket, dark colored shorts and glasses. The investigation is ongoing.
