REPORTS

ROBBERY, 2025-12210192, 4200 block of 2nd Road N. At approximately 11:03 p.m. on December 21, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was outside when by the male suspect who allegedly assaulted him and stole his phone before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim followed the suspect and observed him enter an apartment through a window and called police. Responding officers located the suspect, along with several other individuals, inside a vacant apartment. Police issued commands for all occupants to exit the premises when the suspect fled the scene on foot. Following a foot pursuit, the suspect was detained in the area of N. Oakland Street and N. Pershing Drive. During a search incident to arrest, a cell phone and suspected narcotics were recovered. Erastus Githinji, 20, of No Fixed Address, was arrested, and charged with Robbery, Unlawful Entry, Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance and Obstruction of Justice. He was held without bond. During the course of the investigation, a female suspect ignored officers’ commands and provided false identifying information to officers. While in custody on scene, the suspect sustained minor, self-inflicted injuries and was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. Once cleared, Vaniqua Sanders, 32, of Falls Church, Va., was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry, Obstruction of Justice and Identity Theft. The remaining four suspects that exited the vacant residence after officers issued commands; Belinda Pettus, 46, of Arlington, Va., Franklin Washington, 47, of Arlington, Va., John McCoy-Adams, 28, of Arlington, Va. and Linda Menjivar, 24, of Falls Church, Va., were arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry and released on summonses.

ROBBERY, 2025-12210084, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 12:22 p.m. on December 21, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, concealed merchandise and allegedly exited the store without payment. When confronted by Loss Prevention Personnel, the suspect assaulted them before he was subsequently detained by additional responding Loss Prevention Personnel. The employee sustained minor injuries and was treated by medics at the scene. Once police arrived and took the suspect into custody, Jacob Wilson, 40, of Washington, D.C., was arrested, and charged with Robbery and Public Intoxication. He was held without bond.

ROBBERY, 2025-12190211, 4200 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. At approximately 10:40 p.m. on December 19, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was sitting in front of a residential building when he was approached by three male suspects, two of which were known to him. The three suspects assaulted the victim with what appeared to be a metal object, stole articles of clothing and electronics and subsequently fled the scene on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by medics at the scene. During the course of the investigation, two of the suspects were identified and warrants were obtained for Robbery and Assault by Mob. The third suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing all black and a face covering. The investigation is ongoing.

RECKLESS HANDLING OF A FIREARM, 2025-12210180, 5500 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 9:57 p.m. on December 21, police were dispatched to the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect was handling a firearm inside a residence when the weapon discharged, causing damage to the interior of the home. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. During the course of the investigation, evidence of a shot being fired was recovered. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The investigation into the circumstances of this incident is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2025-12220010, 4000 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. At approximately 1:17 a.m. on December 22, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was inside her residence when the male suspect made entry into her apartment. The victim confronted the suspect who subsequently fled the scene on foot. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’2”-5’6”, wearing dark clothing and a backpack. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2025-12220025, 2700 block of 13th Road S. At approximately 5:04 a.m. on December 22, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was inside her residence when she heard a noise and upon further investigation, heard the unknown suspect(s) attempt to make entry into her home by turning the doorknob. The suspect(s) fled the scene when they were unsuccessful. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (Late), 2025-12210092, 300 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 12:55 p.m. on December 21, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined between 12:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., the suspect(s) attempted to force entry into the victim’s residence by trying to open a window. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
