REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2025-08200165, 2900 block of S. Randolph Street. At approximately 8:37 p.m. on August 20, officers inside a parking garage observed a suspect with an open container of alcohol and determined he was intoxicated in public. While attempting to take him into custody, the suspect resisted and assaulted two officers before they were able to take him into custody. The officers sustained minor injuries. Jairo Montoya Flores, 24, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Assault on Police, Obstruction of Justice and Drunk in Public.
NARCOTICS VIOLATION, 2025-08200103, 1600 block of S. Eads Street. At approximately 3:08 p.m. on August 21, police were dispatched to the report of a possible robbery inside a residence. The preliminary investigation indicates the three occupants of the residence, who are known to each other, were involved in a dispute prior to police notification. Responding officers detained the three occupants and, during the course of the investigation, recovered suspected narcotics. Nayarett Ramirez-Yanez, 23, of Valley Stream, NY was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance. She was held without bond. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2025-08200115, Key Boulevard at N. Nash Street. At approximately 4:14 p.m. on August 20, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery just occurred. The preliminary investigation indicates the male victim was walking in the area when the suspect approached him from behind and allegedly tried to steal the victim’s cell phone from his hand. The suspect then assaulted the victim, stole his phone and fled the scene. A responding officer located the suspect at the intersection of Fort Myer Drive and Wilson Boulevard and took him into custody. The victim declined medical treatment and his cell phone was recovered. Dion Fitzgerald, 40, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Robbery and Obstruction of Justice.
ROBBERY (late), 2025-08200109, 1800 block of Fort Myer Drive. At approximately 3:26 p.m. on August 20, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. The preliminary investigation indicates at approximately 2:03 p.m., the suspect entered the business, forcefully went behind the counter and stole cigarettes before fleeing the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a tall Black male with a thin build, between 30-35 years old and wearing a black short sleeve t-shirt, black pants and carrying a gray backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
