REPORTS

RECKLESS HANDING OF A FIREARM, 2025-08140212, 2500 block of S. Adams Street. At approximately 9:42 p.m. on August 14, police and fire were dispatched to the report of an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers located the injured adult male inside a residence. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. During the course of the investigation, firearms were recovered from the residence. The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is ongoing.  

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2025-08140147, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 4:03 p.m. on August 14, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, concealed merchandise and attempted to exit without payment during which loss prevention personnel confronted him. The suspect dropped the merchandise and struck the loss prevention personnel before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 20-30 years old wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
