REPORTS

SHOT FIRED, 2025-04260183, 1300 block of S. Dinwiddie Street. At approximately 6:58 p.m. on April 26, police were dispatched to Wakefield High School for the report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim attempted to gain access to a sports field when the male suspect allegedly confronted him and a verbal dispute ensued. The suspect then made threatening statements, retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and fired one shot into the air before fleeing the scene in his vehicle. No injuries were reported. Responding officers located the suspect in the area of S. George Mason Drive and S. Dinwiddie Street and took him into custody without incident. During the course of the investigation, evidence of a shot being fired and a firearm were recovered. Mark Hutcherson, 33, of Fredericksburg, Va. was arrested and charged with Reckless Handling of a Firearm, Brandishing a Firearm on School Grounds, Discharging a Firearm Near a School and Possession of a Weapon on School Property.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB, 2025-04250238, 6100 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 10:34 p.m. on April 25, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was outside when she was approached from behind by the female suspect, who is known to her, and an unknown male suspect. The suspects allegedly then struck the victim, causing her to fall to the ground and physically assaulted her before stealing her purse and fleeing the scene on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by medics on scene. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspects yielding negative results. During the course of the investigation, warrants were obtained for the female suspect and the following day, she self-reported to the police station and was taken into custody. Gema Ibarra Romero, 20, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding and Robbery. She was held without bond. The male suspect was not located and is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’6”-5’9”, 150-170 pounds. The investigation is ongoing.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY CAUSTIC AGENT, 2025-04250202, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 7:08 p.m. on April 25, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with injury. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim became involved in a verbal dispute with a group of juvenile males during which the juvenile male suspect pepper sprayed the victim before the group fled the scene on bikes. The victim sustained minor injuries. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a juvenile Black male. The investigation is ongoing. 

ROBBERY, 2025-04270220, 600 block of S. Carlin Springs Road. At approximately 11:06 p.m. on April 27, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was outside when she was approached by the male suspect who demanded her cell phones. The victim refused during which the suspect forcibly removed them from her hand and fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. During the course of the investigation, both phones were recovered. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, wearing a pink shirt, khaki pants and white shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
