Media Alert: Code the Curb

Members of the media are invited to attend a data showcase hosted by Arlington County’s Performance Parking Pilot project team and Northeastern University Arlington in Rosslyn. Event participants will briefly present examples of how visualization and data tools can improve the parking experience in metered spaces.

What: Code the Curb: A Parking Data Hack Showcase

When: Saturday, Nov. 16, 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (Programming begins at 12:15 p.m.)

Where: Northeastern University Arlington, 1300 17th Street North #1500

How to get to the event:

  • Use “Arlington Tower" for GPS directions to be taken to the plaza and front entrance of the building.

  • Metrorail: Rosslyn Metro Station (serviced by the Blue, Orange and Silver Lines)
    • Exit the station toward North Moore Street.
    • Turn right toward Wilson Boulevard. Continue walking until you reach North Nash Street.
    • Turn left and walk south on North Nash Street toward 17th Street North. You will see the Arlington Tower building straight ahead.
  • Bus: Rosslyn Metro Station is serviced by several Metrobus routes. In addition, Arlington Transit (ART) bus routes 43 and 56 have stops within walking distance of the event location.

  • Bike/Bikeshare: If using a personal bicycle, there are public bike racks near Arlington Tower. There is also a Capital Bikeshare station at Wilson Boulevard and Fort Myer Drive.
    • From the Capital Bikeshare station, head north toward Wilson Boulevard.
    • Turn left on Wilson Boulevard and walk until you reach North Nash Street.
    • Turn left and walk south on North Nash Street toward 17th Street North. You will see the Arlington Tower building straight ahead.
  • Car: Street parking is available near the Arlington Tower building (consider using the Performance Parking Pilot’s parking tools to plan where to park). There are also public parking garages at 1700 North Moore Street and 1505 Clarendon Boulevard.
