REPORTS
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2024-06060210, 1000 block of S. Columbus Street. At approximately 6:01 p.m. on June 6, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside his home when the male suspect opened the door and entered. The victim verbally confronted the suspect and he exited the home. Responding officers located the suspect outside the property and took him into custody. During a search of the suspect incident to arrest, suspected narcotics were recovered. Jonpaul Wilson, 43, of No Fixed Address was arrested for Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance and Unlawful Entry.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2024-06070032, 4700 block of Chesterfield Road. At approximately 2:43 a.m. on June 7, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined between 12:05 a.m. and 12:48 a.m., the unknown suspect(s) gained entry into a building on the property and fled the scene prior to police arrival. No items were reported stolen or damaged at the time of the report. No suspect description is available at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
ARMED ROBBERY, 2024-06060269, 800 block of S. Florida Street. At approximately 8:49 p.m. on June 6, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male victim was by his vehicle when the male suspect approached, brandished a firearm and demanded money. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s phone and fled the scene on foot. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area yielding negative results for the suspect, however the victim’s phone was recovered in the 800 block of S. Florida Street. The suspect is described as a Black male, mid 20’s, 5’10”-6’0”, wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, black pants and a face covering. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2024-06060048, 2200 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 7:20 a.m. on June 6, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect entered the business and engaged an employee in a verbal dispute, during which the suspect threw merchandise at the employee, striking him. The suspect then allegedly concealed various merchandise into a bag and fled the scene on foot. A lookout was broadcast and the suspect was located in the 2100 block of 15th Street where he was detained. The suspect provided false identifying information to officers and was later properly identified. Carlos Hunter, 34, of No Fixed Address was arrested for Robbery, Identity Theft, and Giving False Identity to a Law Enforcement While Detained.
