REPORTS
AGGRAVATED MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2024-06140246, 4300 block of 4th Street N. At approximately 11:22 p.m. on June 14, police were dispatched to the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and male suspect, who are known to each other, were outside a residential building when they became involved in a verbal dispute that escalated to a physical altercation during which the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim with a knife before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and a warrant for his arrest was obtained. The following day, officers located the suspect inside a residence in the 800 block of S. Oakland Street and took him into custody. A knife was recovered from the scene. Nicolas Godinez-Andres, 42, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2024-06140102, 1300 block of S. Columbus Street. At approximately 10:59 a.m. on June 14, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 5:00 p.m. on June 13 and 8:00 a.m. on June 14, the unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the victim’s home and fled the scene. No items were reported missing from the residence. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
