REPORTS
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY (late), 2024-12290162, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 7:43 p.m. on December 29, a patrol officer was flagged down by the victim who reported a robbery by force. The preliminary investigation indicates at approximately 7:10 p.m., the female victim was in the bathroom of a commercial property when she was approached by four female suspects who physically assaulted her and attempted to steal the victim’s shopping bags and jewelry. The victim ran out of the bathroom and the suspects followed. A security guard intervened, and all four suspects fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. The suspects are described as Black females, 18-21 years old, 5’2”-5’8. Two of the suspects wore all black while another wore an orange outfit and the other wore a black and gray outfit. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2024-12290112, 3600 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 2:03 p.m. on December 29, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect entered the business and attempted to purchase cigarettes at the counter. When the suspects payment declined, he jumped over the counter, grabbed the cigarettes from the employee’s hands and fled the scene on foot without paying for the items. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a gray hoodie and black pants. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2024-12270112, 2000 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 2:14 p.m. on December 27, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect entered the business, collected merchandise, and exited the store without paying for the items. When confronted by an employee outside the business, the suspect assaulted the employee before loading some of the stolen merchandise into a black sedan, driven by a female suspect, and fleeing the scene in the vehicle. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspects yielding negative results. The male suspect is described as a white male, 30-40 years old with dark facial hair and a mustache, with a thin build, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing an orange jacket, light colored hoodie, and a white or cream-colored beanie. The female suspect is described as a white female with long brown hair wearing a gray sweatshirt. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2024-12270062, 2000 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 9:54 a.m. on December 27, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect entered the business, jumped over the counter and stole cigarettes. When an employee confronted the suspect, he made threatening statements towards the employee and fled the scene on foot before boarding a bus. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a cap, a black and gray puffer coat, black pants and black sneakers. The investigation is ongoing.
