REPORTS
PEEPING, 2023-09200016/2023-09200287, 1900 block of Columbia Pike/900 block of S. Rolfe Street. At approximately 9:17 p.m. on September 20, police were dispatched to the 900 block of S. Rolfe Street to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect was allegedly observed on the victim’s porch, looking into their windows. Responding officers located the suspect on scene and took him into custody without incident. Herbert Otey, 59, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Peeping. During the course of the investigation, it was determined a similar incident had been reported in 1900 block of Columbia Pike earlier the same day and the investigation into that incident is ongoing.
CARJACKING, 2023-09210006, 3100 block of Langston Boulevard. At approximately 12:26 a.m. on September 21, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was walking to his parked vehicle when the suspect vehicle approached and the male suspect exited. The suspect approached the victim while brandishing a firearm and demanded his vehicle. The suspect then pushed the victim to the ground and stole his keys, wallet and personal items. The suspect then fled the scene in the victim’s stolen vehicle, a blue 2023 Chevrolet Corvette bearing Virginia tags TYG4480, followed by the suspect vehicle, a gray sedan, which had approximately three occupants. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention. The suspects are described as a Black males. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2023-09200209, 1500 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 4:30 p.m. on September 20, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, collected merchandise and attempted to exit the store without payment when he was verbally confronted by an employee. The suspect then shoved the employee and fled the scene on foot with the stolen merchandise. Officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a black shirt, black pants and a tan hat carrying a black backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
BRANDISHING (late), 2023-09200109, 2800 block of Arlington Boulevard. At approximately 11:08 a.m. on September 20, police received an online report for a vehicle crash. Upon following up with the reporting party, it was determined at approximately 3:00 p.m. on September 10, the reporting party was driving in the area when she became involved in a minor crash with another vehicle. The other driver exited his vehicle and verbally confronted the reporting party, during which the driver had what appeared to be a firearm in his shirt pocket. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2023-09200213, 600 block of S. Ball Street. At approximately 4:43 p.m. on September 20, police were dispatched to the late report of a possible breaking and entering. Upon arrival, the victim reported items missing from a storage unit. There were no signs of forced entry. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
