REPORTS
RECKLESS DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM (late), 2023-07030046, 1600 block of S. Eads Street. At approximately 6:51 a.m. on July 3, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 3:00 a.m., the suspect allegedly discharged a firearm in his residence, causing damage to the interior of his home. The suspect remained on scene and firearms were recovered. No injuries were reported. Mark Sullivan, 49, of Arlington, Va. was issued a summons for Reckless Handling of a Firearm.
ROBBERY, 2023-07030175, 2000 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 4:21 p.m. on July 3, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the suspect entered the store, collected merchandise, went behind the counter and stole cartons of cigarettes. The suspect then made threatening statements implying he had a weapon before fleeing the scene on foot into the Metro. Officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6’0” with a beard wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, gray shorts and black glasses. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2023-07040051, 1500 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 7:49 a.m. on July 4, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business and began to collect merchandise. When an employee approached the suspect, he allegedly made threatening statements towards the employee and subsequently exited the store without payment. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 20-30 years old, wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray cargo pants. The investigation is ongoing.
