Construction will begin in spring of 2026 and is expected to be completed in spring of 2027.

About the Project

This project will improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists by widening the sidewalk on the west side of Fort Myer Drive between eastbound and westbound Langston Boulevard, crossing Gateway Park

The improvements also include installation of two new traffic signals at the intersection of eastbound Langston Boulevard and North Nash Street and at eastbound Langston Boulevard and Fort Myer Drive.  

Project Goals

  • Widen the west sidewalk on Fort Myer Drive between Langston Boulevard eastbound and westbound lanes
  • Shorten crossing distances on Fort Myer Drive by extending the corner curbs at the intersection of Fort Myer Drive and Langston Boulevard eastbound
  • Replace and upgrade signal infrastructure at Fort Myer Drive and Langston Boulevard eastbound, and at North Nash Street and Langston Boulevard eastbound

Improvements to the sidewalk at Fort Myer Drive through Gateway Park were identified in the Core of Rosslyn Plan.

The project team will provide continual updates to the community throughout construction.

Spring 2026 - Pre-Construction Update

In March 2026, the project team attended the Rosslyn Infrastructure Projects Open House to talk with attendees, share a timeline and provide details on the preliminary phases of construction for the project.
