Fall / Winter 2021 – Plan development and stakeholder coordination

During the process of reviewing feedback on the revised recommended alternative, the project team received additional input from key stakeholders on the project. Staff responded to the letter with additional information and incorporated some of the feedback they shared into the final plan for the bike network.

Summer 2021 - Revised Recommended Alternative

This second virtual community meeting provided an opportunity for community members to learn more about the feedback we received, how it impacted updates to the recommended network, and ask questions.

The project team held a virtual public meeting in June 2021 and provided an online feedback form to collect input on the revised recommended alternative for the bike network.

Meeting materials:

Spring 2021 - Interim Public Engagement on S. Clark Street alternatives

Based on feedback received on the initial recommended alternative, the project team developed two potential concepts for one segment of the Bike Network - on S. Clark Street between 23rd Street S. and 27th Street S. This extended the plan for the bike network an additional block south, and completed connections to existing bike facilities on Potomac Street.

An online feedback form was available for people to share their thoughts on two potential concepts for the segment of the recommended network on South Clark Street from 23rd Street South to 27th Street South. This feedback opportunity closed on June 4, 2021.

Review the concepts presented

This engagement opportunity also included a stakeholder meeting in May 2021 with the NLBID, adjacent businesses and property owners to gather feedback on these two options with respect to commercial operations on the corridor.

Feedback from this public engagement opportunity was used to inform the revised recommended alternative presented in June 2021.

Winter/Spring 2021 - Public engagement kick-off and feedback on recommended alternative

The project team introduced the Crystal City Bike Network to the public, shared the alternatives considered in the development process, and kicked off a public engagement opportunity to gather feedback on the initial recommended alternative.

A public meeting was held in February 2021 to share information and answer questions about the recommended alternative and other alternatives considered.

An online feedback form was also available for public comment from February 24 to March 21, 2021.

Feedback received in this engagement opportunity were used to inform a revised recommended alternative presented in June 2021, and the interim public engagement conducted in April 2021.
