Construction

During construction, all bus stops will remain open. Flagging operations will take place to guide buses around workers working in the curb space.

Construction Update - Fall 2024

Construction will begin on the week of October 21 and is expected to last 4-6 weeks. Crews will conduct tasks to each bus stop and then repeat the cycle with the following tasks. Work should take 3-4 days to complete for each task.

  • Power washing all stations
  • Installation of curb rails (a buffer between bus tires and the curb)
  • Installation of new Luminator digital signs to shelters
  • Replacing old benches with new benches
  • Other improvements

About the Project

General Scope

This maintenance project will bring the five transit stops in the Arlington portion of the Metroway bus dedicated bus lane into good repair. The stops will be power washed and receive safety and signage upgrades.

Project Goals

  • Extend the lifespan of Crystal City Pentagon City Transitway bus shelters by repairing necessary items.
  • Removing the information module from the sidewalk to provide more space for pedestrians and bus passengers.
