The process to design replacement bridges for the three bridges in the park began in Fall 2023. A topographic and planimetric survey has been completed. Study of the hydraulics and designs for abutments and bridges is underway.

About the Project

This project will replace the three bridges in Rock Spring Park with similar new bridges. The new bridges will be in the same locations (both horizontally and vertically) as the existing bridges.

Project Goals

Design new replacement bridges that allow the stream to continue to function as it currently does without impacting flood zones.
Remove the existing bridges.
Re-build or replace the bridge abutments for all three bridges.
Install the new bridges.

This project will go to bid before any construction can begin. While no action is expected in the near future, project updates will be communicated to the community as the project progresses.
