About the Project

The Monroe Park playground renovation is a capital maintenance project that will replace existing play structures that have exceeded their lifespan. Current play equipment is intended for ages 2-5. The project scope includes updated site furnishings, landscaping, and ADA compliant pathways.  

Project Goals

  • Replacement of outdated play structures and site furnishings.
  • Improvement of site circulation.
  • Improvement of storm water management.

Winter 2023/4 - Existing Conditions Feedback

Level of Engagement: Consult

January 2024:The community shared input on existing conditions through an online questionnaire. The questionnaire opened on January 3, 2024, and concluded on January 31, 2024. Spring 2025 - Feedback on Draft Concepts

From April 18 to May 2026, 2025, staff solicited community feedback on two draft concept designs for the Monroe Park playground. We received comments from 109 community members, and the feedback received will help inform the development of the final design.

Fall 2025 - Final Engagement on Final Design Concept

Level of Engagement: Communicate

The project team will share the final playground design informed by community feedback in Fall 2025. Staff will ask for any final feedback as it moves the project forward.
