ALCOVA PARK BRIDGE CLOSED STARTING JULY

Construction on the Alcova Heights Park pedestrian bridge replacement project is expected to begin the week of July 1, 2026, weather permitting, and be complete by Dec. 1, 2026. The pedestrian bridge will be closed during construction, and the playground is expected to remain open.

About the Project

This project is to renovate the existing park pedestrian bridge that is south of 18th Street S. and closest to the restrooms. The project scope also includes minimal landscaping and current ADA requirements. The location of the bridge will not change.

Project Goals:

  • Renovate existing pedestrian bridge
  • Provide ADA access internally within the park
  • Stream-edge stabilization near the bridge
  • Native landscaping and tree planting
