About the Project

The 23rd Street Plaza is a small County-owned park that is nestled in a commercial area of National Landing. The purpose of the project is to provide minor park improvements that will complement the character of the neighborhood and provide a place for visitors to gather and rest. The park improvements will enhance the visibility and aesthetics of the site, and this space will continue to offer visitors a casual use experience.

Spring 2024 - Feedback on Existing Conditions/Use and Draft Concepts

The community provided feedback on existing conditions and three draft concept designs from May 20 through June 7. Staff gathered valuable input to help inform the development of a final draft design.

Spring 2025 - Feedback on Final Concept Design

Level of Engagement: Consult

The online feedback form was open from May 1 to May 22, 2025. Respondents reviewed a draft final concept plan and naming options for the park at 23rd and Eads Street and shared their input to help inform the final design. A total of 114 participants responded.

Summer 2025-Spring 2026 - Design and Permitting

Level of Engagement: Communicate

The County Board has officially approved renaming 23rd Street South and South Eads Street Park to 23rd Street Plaza, following broad community and commission support for the new name.
