The interior renovation of the Arlington Child Care Center was completed in spring 2024.
About the Renovation Project
The County owns a 3,284 square foot detached one-level building, located on a 15,828 square foot parcel at 1915 N. Uhle St. For many years, this facility has been used for daycare services for children of Arlington County employees. It had not been renovated since 1990 and needed an array of repairs.
On Dec. 17, 2022, the County Board approved a $1.1 million contract with Landivar & Associates for an interior renovation, with limited exterior improvements for ADA compliance. Work included renovations of the children’s rooms, teachers’ areas, restrooms, and the kitchenette; window replacement; HVAC system upgrades; and overall accessibility upgrades. In spring 2025, the fence was replaced, and several new Honey Locus trees were planted.
