ART Operations and Maintenance Facility Ribbon Cutting

AOMF opening.jpg The Arlington community is invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the ART Operations and Maintenance Facility (AOMF).

This event will mark the end of more than two years of construction to build the facilities needed to support the County's growing ART bus fleet. The maintenance facility will perform regular preventive bus maintenance, repairs, and other unscheduled maintenance work. It also includes space for administration and operations functions, parking for buses, and a staff parking garage. An upcoming phase of the project includes the installation of the infrastructure to support battery electric buses and is projected to be ready in late 2025.

This project is funded with $39 million from the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) as well as with funding from the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) and dedicated local transportation sources.
