These installations were made possible through Sculptors at Work, a program of the Washington Sculptors Group. Through the program, artists created artwork in public places where the public could watch the creative and intellectual process unfold.

Takeover
Artist: Donna Conlon
Materials: Telephone wire, found refuse, three trees
Using recycled materials, such as soda bottles, Styrofoam cups, computer parts, plastic lids, and insulated wire, Donna Conlon wrapped trunks and lower branches of trees with a weaving of plastic.
Invisible String
Artist: Miguel Mir
Materials: Silver maple tree branches, copper wire, Rustoleum spray paint, twine
Invisible String consisted of three larger-than-life female figures composed of intertwined tree branches. The figures were in the act of pulling down an invisible string from the sky.
Growing
Artist: Carolina Sardi
Materials: Welded steel rods, sheet metal, dirt
Growing consisted of welded steel “planted” in three shallow steel containers.
