These installations were part of Arlington County’s 1993 ONSITE: Sculpture Project exhibition, a temporary sculpture project.

Grassman
Artist: John Antone
Materials: Fiberglass
Location: Rosslyn Gateway Park, 1300 Langston Blvd.
Grassman was in the shape of a portly businessman, complete with hat and cane, covered in huge blades of fiberglass “grass.”
Drift
Artist: Tom Ashcraft
Materials: Japanese porcelain mosaic tiles over a concrete and steel substructure
Location: Rosslyn Gateway Park, 1300 Langston Blvd.
Drift was made up of five sculptural benches in the shape of boat hulls covered in sky-blue ceramic tiles.
Scotch Pine
Artist: Jeff Spaulding
Materials: Christmas Trees
Location: Bluemont Park, 601 N. Manchester St.
This two part installation was made of severed pine tree trunks suspended upside-down from living trees. A mound of branches was used to create a mound that measured 15 feet in length.
