Arch of Bluemont
Artist: Kerima Gabbay
Materials: Carved pine
This monumental sculpture was an organic triumphal arch, created in honor of Bluemont Park. The arch was embellished with carved vines, birds, flowers, and insects.
Mirror, Mirror
Artist: Theresa Martin
Materials: Mirror, steel, cement, wood, Plexiglas, beads, paint, paper
Mirror, Mirror was a large-scale, sculptural kaleidoscope. The work could be enjoyed in two ways: either as a sculpture viewed from afar, or from within, by viewing nature through the kaleidoscope’s infinite pattern.
Tall Couple
Artist: Tom Mullany
Materials: wood, paint
These two elongated sculptures depicted a man and a woman dressed in navy business suits and red ties. The artist was interested in depicting a simple rendition of contemporary humans.
Vertebrae V
Artist: Foon Sham
Materials: Plywood panels, PVC pipe, steel, paint
When selecting a location for his sculpture, Foon Sham was intrigued by the flow and grace of Four Mile Run. He developed a sculpture that spanned the banks of the streambed. The sculpture resembles a backbone, made of bright red segmented panels. Learn more about Foon Sham.
