Penelope Barringer (d. 2016) created lithographs and monotype prints in the Washington, DC, area for more than 30 years.  In 1983, she co-founded Discover Graphics Atelier, a printmaking workshop in the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA, that provides classes and working space for area printmakers. She taught lithography, etching, and monotype classes as well as specialized intensive workshops in etching, monotype, and collagraph techniques.
