Lacey Woods Invasive Plant Removal

Improve habitat, meet fellow do-gooders, get exercise, and learn about native plants and wildlife all while making a difference in the great outdoors! Learn more about Arlington's invasive plant program.

Experienced invasive removers will be asked to seek and destroy any lingering honeysuckle, privet, ivy and other nasties inside the mostly clean forested area. Training will be provided to those new to the work and we will concentrate on removing invasives along the edge of the forest.  Gloves, tools and training is provided. Volunteers should dress warmly and to work outdoors and are encouraged to bring their own work gloves and water bottles.

These events are for volunteers ages 9+ (family friendly).  Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  If you are 16 or 17 years old and plan to volunteer without a parent or guardian, you will either need to have your parent or guardian sign the registration form in-person at the start of the event, or print and fill out the "Group Registration Youth" form at the sign-up link under "Related Files" on Sign-Up Genius and have your parent or guardian sign it in advance. Make sure to bring it with you on the day of the event.
