Sheriff’s Office Congratulates Deputies for Public Safety Awards
ARLINGTON, Va., June 25, 2024 —
The Arlington Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that three of our dedicated deputies have been honored with prestigious public safety awards from the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. The awards were presented in recognition of their exceptional service and life-saving efforts, underscoring their commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.
Major Barrett was awarded the Meritorious Service Award for his outstanding dedication and exemplary service over the course of 32 years. His leadership and commitment to duty have made a significant impact in the office and the community he serves.
Corporal Gan and Corporal Garrison both received Life-Saving Awards for their heroic actions that directly resulted in saving a life. Their quick thinking, bravery, and professionalism in critical situations have earned them this distinguished recognition.
Sheriff Jose Quiroz praised the deputies, stating, "It is with great pride that we honor Major Barrett, Corporal Gan, and Corporal Garrison. Their unwavering dedication to public safety and their extraordinary actions in times of crisis exemplify the mission and values of our office. The award ceremony was a heartfelt occasion with the families of the honored deputies in attendance. Sheriff Quiroz expressed, "We are also grateful to the families of our deputies.
