Fingerprinting

FINGERPRINTING SERVICES ARE OFFERED ON WEDNESDAYS AND THURSDAYS FROM 12:30 PM-4:00 PM. NO APPOINTMENTS; WALK-IN ONLY.

If an agency or business requests a copy of your fingerprints, the Sheriff’s Office can assist with the request. The Arlington County Sheriff’s Office ONLY offers the service of electronic (digital) fingerprinting which are printed on a paper fingerprint card and is physically given to the resident as it is their responsibility to fill out the card and submit the card to the party who requested it.

Please be advised, cell phones, and other electronic devices i.e. apple watches, iPads are not allowed in the Courthouse. Coin-operated lockers are available in the lobby of the Arlington County Detention Facility. Please plan ahead.

Requirements to obtain fingerprinting:

Arlington County Employees:

• Arlington County Memorandum requesting fingerprinting (print copy)
• Driver's license only

General Public:

• Fingerprint cards (we offer blank FD-258 cards, please verify prior to arrival with your agency that the cards are acceptable)
• Valid Picture ID with your signature i.e. driver's license, state ID, or passport

Fees

• $10.00 for the first fingerprint card, $5.00 for each additional fingerprint card
• We accept CASH only. Please bring exact change. 

Taxi Drivers:

• Receipt from Arlington County Police Department
• Driver's license
• $15.00 cash

Vendors:

• Receipt from Arlington County Police Department
• Driver's license or passport
• $10.00 cash

Expungements:

• Driver's license or passport
• $15.00 cash
• Bring a copy of the petition filed with the Court and a copy of warrant arrest
• We accept CASH only. Please bring exact change.
