Arlington First Responder Co-Ed Summer Basketball Camp

Launched in the summer of 2025, the Arlington First Responder Co-Ed Summer Basketball Camp offers rising 6th–8th graders a unique opportunity to build their basketball skills while learning from and connecting with Arlington County police officers, firefighters and sheriff’s deputies. This week-long camp combines high-quality basketball instruction with positive mentorship, allowing campers to gain insight from first responders who model leadership, teamwork and resilience both on and off the court.

Campers receive expert coaching from experienced high school and college-level coaches and players—many of whom competed at advanced levels—who focus on developing strong fundamentals and fostering a love for the game. Daily sessions emphasize skill development across a wide range of areas, including ball-handling, dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and overall court awareness. Throughout the week, participants put their skills into action through structured team competitions, including 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 tournaments, promoting collaboration, sportsmanship and confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

Basketball Camp Session Information

Camp will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. The 2026 Arlington First Responder Co-Ed Summer Basketball Camp will be held from Monday, July 13 - Friday, July 17, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch during the camp sessions. Transportation will be the responsibility of the parents or guardians. Campers are expected to participate in all camp activities, including some strenuous physical exercise and sporting events.

Camp Fee

The cost of each session is $50.00 per student. Arlington County does not want fees or language to be a barrier for residents to participate in camps. To request a reduction in fees, contact the school-based patrol sponsor directly or the school administrator where your child is enrolled as a student.
