History Hikes: Duel in Arlington
Families. Register children and adults; children must be accompanied by a registered adult. On April 8, 1826, Secretary of State Henry Clay and Senator John Randolph crossed the Chain Bridge into Virginia for a duel. It was the result of years of bitter political fighting, finally turned violent. To mark the 195th anniversary, we will hike the approximate path of the duel and learn how it came to be. Meet at Fort Ethan Allen Park, 3829 N Stafford Street, Arlington. Registration Required.
