Enjoy this quaint two-acre park equipped with two tennis courts and an amazing sculpture, Spielschiff, which was designed by Bonifatius Stirnberg. Spielschiff, which means “play ship” in German, allows children to imagine commanding a magical vessel. It was developed in conjunction with Planet Arlington, a cultural initiative designed to explore issues of immigration, globalization and the environment through the lens of the arts and humanities. Constructed of bronze and stainless steel, the sculpture was recast from molds used in 1979 for an identical piece in Aachen, Arlington’s sister city in Germany.
