Operation FirePaws
Donate pet supplies to benefit the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA)
From November 1st through November 17th, the Arlington County Fire Department will be kicking off the 5th annual Operation FirePaws, a two week long drive collecting donated items needed by shelter pets at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA). Since the start of the drive in 2015, over 1600 pounds of pet goods have been donated by community members to AWLA. The department will also use the month of August to educate the public on various pet safety topics.
Citizens are encouraged to drop off needed pet supplies to donation bins available at fire stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10 from November 1st through November 17th. Please look for the donation bins in the lobby or by the front door of the stations.
The AWLA has requested no milk bones, boxed hard treats, or homemade treats or used beds.
