Join us for an inspiring community conversation about Adverse Childhood Experiences and Building Resilience with Dr. Alfiee Breland-Noble

Arlington County Department of Human Services invites community members to an engaging and thought‑provoking evening with Dr. Alfiee Breland‑Noble, a nationally recognized psychologist, researcher, and author, for a discussion on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the power of resilience.

This event will introduce attendees to the science behind ACEs and explore how trauma impacts mental health across the lifespan—particularly for youth and families from racially and culturally diverse communities. Dr. Alfiee will share research‑informed, culturally responsive approaches to healing, while offering practical strategies that individuals, families, and communities can use to foster resilience and well‑being.

The evening will include a keynote discussion, facilitated audience Q&A, interactive take‑home reflection activities, and an opportunity to connect with local resources aligned with Arlington’s ACEs initiative. A book signing and informal meet‑and‑greet with Dr. Alfiee will follow the program.

Whether you are a parent, caregiver, educator, service provider, or community member, this event offers insight, inspiration, and actionable steps toward creating a more healing and supportive community.
