The Accessory Homestay Permit is issued by the Zoning Division of the Community Planning, Housing, and Development (CPHD) agency. The Business License and Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) account is issued by the Commissioner of Revenue.
Submit an application online through Permit Arlington.
Provide proof of residency (i.e., your lease, utility bill, etc.).
Provide a diagram showing parking for the dwelling (whether on- or off street).
The business license and Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) Account are issued and established by the Commissioner of Revenue.
Register for a business license under Section Code 72.A – Lodging (Accessory Homestay) through Arlington’s Customer Assessment and Payment Portal (CAPP).
Obtain a Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) Account. (The Commissioner of Revenue's office will help to determine if you need a TOT account.)
Once approved, the Accessory Homestay Permit from Zoning will be valid for one year from date of issue and must be renewed annually by submitting a new application.
The business license is issued by the Commissioner of Revenue and must be renewed annually by March 1.
