REPORTS
ATTEMPTED UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2023-08190226, 200 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 7:31 p.m. on August 19, police were dispatched to a mental health call for service. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was walking in the area when the known male suspect attempted to engage her in conversation. The victim walked away and into a residential building during which the suspect followed her. The victim was then inside her apartment when she observed the suspect allegedly attempt to force entry to the residence and asked him to leave. Officers located the suspect in another residential building in the 200 block of N. Glebe Road and took him into custody. The suspect was evaluated on scene by medics. Michael Brunner, 43, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Attempted Unlawful Entry and Public Intoxication.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2023-08200216, 1600 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 8:24 p.m. on August 20, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect and male victim had a physical altercation that resulted in the victim being transported to an area hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is described as a thin-build, bald Black male, approximately 5’1”, 35-40 years old wearing a dark colored shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2023-08190164, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 4:21 p.m. on August 19, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the two juvenile victims were in the area when four to five male suspects approached them and stole electronics and an undisclosed amount of cash from Victim One. The victims attempted to leave the area when the suspects approached them again and assaulted Victim Two before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported. The suspects are described as Black males. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2023-08210025, 4900 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 1:29 a.m. on August 21, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined approximately five to seven juvenile suspects entered the business, collected merchandise and moved towards the exit without payment. A store employee confronted the juveniles during which one suspect threw merchandise at the employee before the group fled the scene. Officers canvassed the area for the suspects yielding negative results. The employee sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2023-08200020, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 12:44 a.m. on August 20, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 12:32 a.m., the unknown male suspect forced entry into the business and stole clothing before fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’8”-5’10”, 35-45 years old, 210-220 pounds, wearing a black t-shirt, gray sweatpants, black baseball cap and a black backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2023-08180141, 1600 block of N. Rhodes Street. At approximately 12:52 p.m. on August 18, police were dispatched to the report of breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined the suspect entered the victim’s residence and when confronted, exited the home. Officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. No items were reported stolen. The suspect is described as a tall, skinny-build Black male wearing a tan jacket, black t-shirt, tan pants and a black backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
