Arlington County Government offices and services are operating on modified schedules for the Independence Day holiday on Friday, July 3, 2026. 

  • TRAFFIC ALERT: Planned Road Closures for July 4, 2026 Celebration - The Arlington County Police Department, Virginia State Police, United States Park Police and the Virginia Department of Transportation will close multiple roadways on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, to facilitate the safe passage of large crowds for the Independence Day events and fireworks.  
  • Sprayground locations and schedule (expanded hours due to heat advisory)
  • Trash/Recycling/Organics/Special Collections Curbside Routes – Regular collection
  • Parking – Permit parking is always in effect unless specifically noted on the sign. Meters are not enforced on holidays
