Published on July 15, 2025
ARLINGTON, VA: Friday afternoon, July 11, 2025, following a four-day trial, a jury found Geremy Bridgeforth guilty of object sexual penetration, burglary with intent to commit object sexual penetration, aggravated sexual battery, burglary with intent to commit aggravated sexual battery, and burglary with intent to commit larceny or any felony. These charges stemmed from three separate incidents in the Ballston and Courthouse neighborhoods of Arlington, on three separate dates in April of 2023.
On April 1, 2023, Mr. Bridgeforth unlawfully gained access to the Quincy Plaza apartment building in the middle of the night, entered the apartment of a woman who was asleep in her bed, and stole some credit cards. In the process, Mr. Bridgeforth left behind a partial palm print, which was subsequently identified to him. He was seen on surveillance entering the building shortly before he was seen on victim’s surveillance camera from inside her apartment. Geolocation and WiFi data showed him in the area.
The following day, on April 2, 2023, Mr. Bridgeforth returned to the Quincy Plaza building and, in the middle of the night, entered the apartment of another woman who was asleep in her bed. Mr. Bridgeforth then sexually assaulted her, and after the victim screamed, he fled the scene. DNA samples taken from the victim’s body were subsequently analyzed by the state lab, and Mr. Bridgeforth could not be eliminated as a major contributor of those samples. Geolocation and WiFi data showed him in the area.
Ten days later, on April 12, 2023, Mr. Bridgeforth unlawfully entered the Courthouse Plaza apartment building in the middle of the night, where he then entered the apartment of another woman asleep in her bed, and sexually assaulted her. After the victim screamed and fought him off, Mr. Bridgeforth fled the scene. DNA samples taken from the victim’s body were subsequently analyzed by the state lab, and Mr. Bridgeforth could not be eliminated as a major contributor of those samples.
Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys Colleen L’Etoile and Eily Raman successfully tried the case and obtained guilty verdicts. Our Victim Witness team, including Assistant Program Director Deena Ware and Victim Specialist Ada Lazo, provided essential support to the victims in this case, helping them navigate an at times stressful and challenging legal system. The Office is grateful to the Arlington County Police Department for their teamwork and dedicated investigation of this case, and in particular the detectives of the Special Victims Unit for their detailed preparation of the case and their passion for achieving justice for victims of sexual assault.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti said, "The conduct Mr. Bridgeforth was engaged in is what nightmares are made of: residential break-ins in the middle of the night and sexual assault. We are grateful to the jury’s service, and grateful that the guilty verdicts ensure that Mr. Bridgeforth will not do this again."
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 3, 2025.
