Media Alert: Show Your Pride: Light Projection and Block Party
Published on May 16, 2025
Arlington, VA – The public and members of the media are invited to join Arlington County at the "Show Your Pride: Light Projection and Block Party" event. This vibrant event, celebrating the kickoff of WorldPride DC 2025, takes place at the Ellen M. Bozman Government Center Plaza on May 16 and May 17, 2025.*
The Show Your Pride event will feature the unveiling of stunning artwork from renowned projection artist Robin Bell and celebrated muralist Lisa Marie Thalhammer. Both artists created pieces that reflect Arlington County's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and support for the LGBTQIA+ community, both locally and globally.
Lisa Marie Thalhammer's mural design, featuring a rainbow "eye," symbolizes visibility and inclusivity. "I was inspired by Arlington County's commitment to diversity and intention to help individuals stay visible, which is why I created the rainbow 'eye' in my mural design,” said Thalhammer. “We want to create a space that feels inspirational and creative and helps everyone feel welcomed and seen,"
Robin Bell echoed these sentiments, stating, "Showcasing Arlington's inclusivity through our projections is a privilege I’m proud to be part of."
*In the event of inclement weather on May 16 or May 17, the event will move to the respective rain dates of May 30 and May 31. Check the event page for updates.
