REPORTS
ROBBERY, 2025-01060049, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 2:33 p.m. on January 6, police were dispatched to the report of a shoplifter in custody by loss prevention. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, allegedly concealed merchandise and attempted to exit without payment when he was confronted by loss prevention personnel. The suspect then assaulted the loss prevention personnel and a struggle and physical altercation ensued before loss prevention detained the suspect. The suspect and loss prevention personnel sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. During the course of the investigation, a firearm and knife were recovered. Marcus Bailey, 32, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Concealed Weapon and Assault and Battery. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY, 2025-01040154, 800 block of S. Dinwiddie Street. At approximately 10:39 p.m. on January 4, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was outside when he was approached by approximately seven suspects. The suspects engaged the victim in conversation before assaulting him and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects then fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. The suspects are described as three Hispanic females and four Hispanic males wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2025-01050065, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 10:04 a.m. on January 5, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 5:54 a.m., the male suspect forced entry into the closed business by shattering a window, collected merchandise and subsequently fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as an unknown race male wearing all black clothing and a ski mask. The investigation is ongoing.
