REPORTS
AGGRAVATED MALICIOUS WOUNDING (late), 2025-02040041, 2nd Street N. at N. Glebe Road. At approximately 7:01 a.m. on February 4, police responded to Virginia Hospital Center for the late report of an assault. It was determined between approximately 8:20 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on February 3, the female victim was walking in the area when the male suspect, who is known to the victim, knocked her to the ground and assaulted her before subsequently fleeing the scene on foot. The victim then self-reported to the hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and taken into custody at a residence in the 100 block of N. Thomas Street . Elder Perez Vasquez, 26, of Arlington, VA. was arrested and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Strangulation. He was held without bond.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2025-02050021, 500 block of N. Piedmont Street. At approximately 1:59 a.m. on February 5, police were dispatched to the report of trouble unknown. Upon arrival, it was determined approximately three male subjects were in a common area inside a residential building when they became involved in a physical altercation. One subject left the scene prior to police arrival and self-reported to an area hospital with lacerations considered serious, but non-life threatening. The other two subjects remained on scene and were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2025-02040115, 2600 block of S. Kent Street. At approximately 1:02 p.m. on February 4, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. It was determined between approximately 12:13 p.m. on January 26 and February 4 at 1:02 p.m., the suspect(s) forced entry into the victim’s unoccupied home by shattering a window, rummaged through the interior of the residence and subsequently fled the scene. No items of significant were reported missing from the home. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2025-02040123, 500 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 2:31 p.m. on February 4, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. It was determined between approximately 12:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., the suspect(s) forced entry into the closed business, rummaged through the interior and stole merchandise before fleeing the scene. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
