REPORTS
RECKLESS HANDING OF A FIREARM, 2024-09100219, 900 block of N. Ivy Street. At approximately 9:18 p.m. on September 10, police were dispatched to the report of a dispute inside a residence. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the occupants of the residence by knocking and announcing themselves as law enforcement during which they heard the noise of a firearm slide being racked inside the home. A perimeter was established and a search warrant for the residence was obtained. Members of the Emergency Response Team executed the search warrant, took the suspect into custody and recovered a loaded firearm with an extended magazine, an AR-style rifle loaded with a drum magazine and ammunition. The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect was inside the residence when he became involved in a verbal dispute with the victim, during which he allegedly assaulted her. The victim left the residence prior to police arrival and was later safely located. Eric Salvan, 56, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Reckless Handling of a Firearm and Assault & Battery.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2024-09100190, 1800 block of N. Quinn Street. At approximately 6:27 p.m. on September 10, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect allegedly forced entry into a vacant unit of a residential building. Responding officers established a perimeter, conducted a search of the apartment, located the suspect and detained him without incident. Naomi Spruill, 29, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY, 2024-09100034, 3100 block of N. Quincy Street. At approximately 7:33 a.m. on September 10, police were dispatched to the report of a grand larceny auto. Upon arrival, it was determined between 9:00 p.m. on September 9 and 7:33 a.m. on September 10, the suspect(s) entered the victim’s garage and stole two vehicles. The stolen vehicles are described as a 2015 Acura TLX with MI license plate ETC2010 and a 2023 Ford Explorer with VA license plate DUQ5858. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
