REPORTS
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2024-10130128, 200 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 5:05 p.m. on October 13, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect allegedly entered the business, concealed merchandise and attempted to exit without payment when an employee confronted him. The employee recovered the merchandise before the suspect made threatening statements and fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers observed an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area and took him into custody. Josue Sierra Lopez, 36, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery.
ROBBERY, 2024-10130125, 4200 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 4:41 p.m. on October 13, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store before an employee confronted him. The suspect then made threatening statements towards the employee, exited the business without payment and fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a gray hoodie, gray pants, black tennis shoes, gray hat and a black backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY (late), 2024-10130158, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 8:37 p.m. on October 13, an officer was flagged down for the late report of a robbery by force. It was determined between approximately 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., the male victim was sitting on a bench when the male suspect approached him from behind, pushed him to the ground and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 30-40 years old wearing a black coat, beige pants and a black hat. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2024-10120105, 500 block of 12th Street S. At approximately 1:26 p.m. on October 12, police were dispatched to the late report of a larceny. It was determined between September 12 and October 12, the suspect(s) forced entry into the victim’s secured storage unit and stole electronics and other personal items before fleeing the scene. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
